Teak Deck Maintenance

Rinse the teak deck with fresh water to remove salt and loose debris.

Apply Part A of teak cleaner and scrub with a stiff brush along the grain.

Apply Part B (brightener/neutralizer) and scrub again; rinse thoroughly.

Allow deck to dry completely for 24 hours.

Lightly sand along the grain with 120-grit if gray coloring remains.

Inspect caulking between teak planks: replace any that is cracked, shrunk, or missing.

Mask off adjacent surfaces before applying sealer.

Apply teak sealer or oil with a foam brush or cloth, working with the grain.

Allow to dry per manufacturer instructions before applying a second coat.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or sanding across the grain which damages the wood fibers.
